One of the easiest ways to extend your battery life is to adjust your settings so that the light turns off after 5 to 10 seconds of inactivity. If you really need battery saving help then turn your backlight off entirely, you will be surprised to find that your phone will still be readable in nearly every setting that has normal lighting.
